Ashley Southcomb, LPC
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 15 years of experience helping children, teens, adults, and families navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity, confidence, and support.
I believe therapy should feel like a safe, comfortable space where you can show up exactly as you are—without judgment.
My approach is warm, down-to-earth, and individualized to each client’s unique needs and goals. I enjoy helping clients work through anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, life transitions, emotional overwhelm, self-esteem concerns, and trauma while building practical tools for lasting change. I incorporate evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Background and Approach
My professional background includes years of experience working across both educational and clinical settings, giving me a unique understanding of how emotional wellbeing impacts daily functioning, relationships, behavior, confidence, and overall quality of life. Prior to working in private practice, I spent over a decade supporting adolescents and families within school settings as a Special Education Teacher and Behavior Intervention Specialist. These experiences strengthened my ability to connect with individuals navigating emotional, behavioral, relational, and life stressors while maintaining a compassionate and supportive approach.
In my clinical work, I focus on creating a strong therapeutic relationship where clients feel emotionally safe, heard, and empowered. I believe meaningful change happens when people feel genuinely supported while also gaining practical insight and tools they can apply in everyday life. My goal is to help clients better understand themselves, develop healthier patterns, improve relationships, and move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.
