Melissa Larson, LCSW is a clinical social worker and has a passion for working with children.

She has over 17 years’ experience working in schools, hospitals and homes for developmentally disabled children and adults. She served as a school social worker for 13 years working with students in regular education and special needs.

Approach And Specialties

Melissa uses a variety of play and art activities to engage children in the therapeutic process and reduce anxiety. Her warm and friendly personality puts children and parents at ease. She offers parenting support to parents struggling with their children’s behavior or emotional difficulties. She offers support and assistance surrounding problems and stressors in the school environment including bullying, ADHD/ADD, autism, social difficulties, difficulties with social and emotional development and learning due to a number of issues including moving, family changes/stressors, hospitalization or unmet needs in the school environment.

Melissa also has an interest in women’s issues and perinatal mental health including pregnancy, post-partum depression, anxiety, adjustment to change and divorce.
