Mena Edwards, LSW, QMHP

I am a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) providing therapy and crisis services for children, adolescents, teens, young adults, and adults. I specialize in stress management, depression, anger management, anxiety, life changes/adjustments, and trauma/PTSD. I believe in creating a warm and supportive space where clients feel heard and in control of their healing journey.

My Approach

Using a person-centered, strength-based approach, I tailor therapy to each client's needs. Integrating cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy. I believe therapy should move at the client's pace, offering a space that is open, respectful, and judgement free.

In my work with families, I try to help parents understand their child’s emotions and work to build coping skills. Many times, parents seek help when their child displays anger, anger is an easy emotion for kids to identify and express. I use Play therapy techniques to help children express their feelings, thoughts, and emotions and will provide strategies to try at home.

Diversity is important in my practice, it enhances my understanding of one's experiences, backgrounds, and identities. I am bi-racial (African American and Mexican American) with a lived experience with both cultures. Inclusiveness is one of the many reasons I became a therapist. I believe everyone should have a space to feel valued, respected, and heard.

I enjoy going outside and hanging out with family and friends. I like to explore new restaurants and travel.
