Brina Baylian, LPC

 

Brina (she/her) strives to provide psychological support that promotes individual growth and mental well-being. She understands that a person is uniquely influenced by their culture, family, values and beliefs, and personal identity. She honors and respects the uniqueness of each person that she meets. Brina believes that mental health treatment begins with a clear understanding between the person and counselor, identifying the person's goals, and establishing a treatment plan based on those individualized goals to achieve their own version of wellness.

Approach and Education

Brina is a certified Dialectical Behavior Therapist and trained as a registered behavior therapist utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis theories. She uses an eclectic approach in treatment techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. Brina treats various mental health conditions, including anxiety, eating, mood, and personality disorders. Trauma and stressor-related disorders, psychotic disorders, and neurodevelopmental disorders. She treats behavior and emotional disorders of children and teens with autism, ADHD, and mental health disorders. She provides support and psychoeducation to the family, as well. Finally, she treats couples with a range of issues.

Brina received her bachelor's degree in Psychology from Roosevelt University in Chicago, IL, and continued her education at Bradley University in Peoria, IL, where she received her master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
